Hey friends! On my latest adventure I spent 48 hours in Nashville. I ate lots of incredible food, found some movement, drank some coffee, and had an amazing time.
So on this post I really want to dive into the places I was able to check out and eat at on this recent trip. If you don't know already I am a huge fan of Nashville. There are so many good restaurants to check out so I try and find somewhere new every trip. I have some top favorites but this trip was about trying out some old and new spots.
First up we went to The Original Monell’s in Germantown. This particular restaurant is known for its Southern food served family style. We went on a Tuesday morning and were seated as soon as we arrived. We sat at our table and the table immediately filled with strangers that didn't quite feel like strangers by the time we were done eating. My favorite part of this breakfast experience was NO CELL PHONES AT THE TABLE. If you needed to take a call or text they asked you to excuse yourself from the table. This really forced you to be present in the moment with strangers from all walks of life and enjoy a delicious meal chatting with them. It was great and everyone immediately felt like a warm hug. As the food started coming out we were served pancakes, eggs, potatoes (incredible potatoes), biscuits, gravy, cinnamon rolls, bacon, sausage, cheesy grits, fried apples, corn pudding, and juicy fried chicken. So much food! The food was good but the experience and sense of community and new friends you meet was my top favorite.

Alright next up on the food adventure in day 1 we went to Bourbon Steak for dinner. Bourbon Steak is located at the top of the JW Marriott. I have been here a couple times before and have always had a great experience but this was by far my favorite time going here and my favorite meal of the trip!! I highly suggest making a reservation before coming here. They are always very busy but it is easy to get a reservation ahead of time.
Instead of a bread service they serve fries matched with specific dipping sauces. Very different and very delicious!!
For starters I got a Caesar salad and the Alaskan King Crab broiled. This crab melts in your mouth and the Caesar salad has the perfect crunch with the most delicious dressing.
Next up we tried 3 sides: the Brussel sprouts, the mashed potatoes, and truffle Mac and cheese. All tasty and the Mac & cheese very very creamy!
For my main course I had the Salmon with Maine Lobster & Bearnaise. Incredible I tell you... Just incredible.
And last up dessert.. I had the Old Fashion Creme Brûlée. I thought at this point nothing else could top all the other amazing food we already had but boy was I wrong! Hands down best dessert of my life.
Food was incredible, service was top notch, and the views were break taking. If you are ever in Nashville you have to make a point to check out this amazing restaurant. You'll be glad you did!

Day 2 started with breakfast at the Pancake Pantry! I love me a good pancake. This is a well known staple in Nashville and is always very very busy. The wait goes quick but it is rare you will ever go here and not have a wait. We got lucky going early on a Wednesday morning and walked right in and grabbed a table! I ordered chocolate chip pancakes and hash browns. I went all out with the hash browns and added peppers, onions, cheese, and bacon to them! Very tasty. Service is very quick here and you are in & out quickly! Delicious food, nothing spectacular or crazy but just good food.

For lunch on day 2 we chose to go grab a slice of pizza at Five Points Pizza! I got a slice of cheese pizza with Garlic Knots to start. The pizza was very tasty and a good size for a great price. Pizza and garlic knots for $10! This was a perfect spot for a quick afternoon snack.

And last food stop before heading to the airport we had reservations for dinner at Luogo!
I was very excited to try this Italian restaurant out. The food did not disappoint one bit.
For starters we started with Arancini del Luogo & a Grilled Caesar salad. Arancini del Luogo were rice balls filled with cheese over a spicy marinara. The Caesar salad was fresh and covered in the best tasting cheese.
Next up I had the Spaghetti with Manilla Clams and Ashton had the Chitarra with Beef Meatballs. Mine had Calabrian Chili in it but it was the perfect amount of spice with adding so much flavor without being overbearing with the heat. The meatballs were juicy and a really good flavor to them.
Last but certainly not least was the Banana Pudding for dessert. Perfect size for 2 people to share and so many flavors blended in together.
The food here was very very delicious but the service definitely could have been better. We might have been a little spoiled with how great service was at Bourbon Steak! I look forward to coming back and trying more on the menu.

Well that is all for my food adventures for this trip to Nashville! Not a bad meal on this trip and some great spots to go back and try again. Just typing this made me hungry and want to eat all this amazing food all over again. I hope you enjoyed reading and your mouth watered at these incredible dishes!!!
Keep an eye out for my next post about finding movement in Nashville.. Talk soon :)
