Where has the time gone??

August!? We are already in August! Time is flying and I can't believe it has been so long since I have been on here sharing all my thoughts and adventures.

Well lets bring it back to June...

In June I went on my first International Yoga Retreat with the studio I work and teach at. Myself and the owner had 19 other people come with us to the beautiful, incredible, and breath taking retreat center Xinalani in Mexico.

For starters I wasn't super pumped about going. I had only been out of the country once.. (well except for being born in Germany) so needless to say I was a little nervous. The retreat center was on a beach in June. In June.. where its hot and humid... and its 100 degrees.. and there's sand...

So needless to say I wasn't super thrilled about location... just for pure personal reasons and preferences...

But as it got closer I really had to get a grip! I am literally going to Mexico for a week FOR MY JOB! To work in a beautiful location, with awesome people, and share my love for yoga.

WHO COMPLAINS ABOUT THAT!??

So after I took a step back and allowed myself to look at the positives and go in with a better mindset and really honor this time and appreciate where I am in my life and career.

I HAD THE BEST FREAKIN TIME!

I honestly can't say enough good things about Xinalani.

But while you're here lets talk top 3 highlights:

1. The location! It is a 45 min boat ride from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and you're on your own island in a jungle. Private beach, breathtaking views, beautiful rooms, pool, and incredible yoga rooms.

2. The service! I worked in the hospitality industry for 12 years and this was the best experience I could ever have imagined. EVERY single person working at Xinalani is kind, welcoming, helpful, accommodating. They are truly happy you are there and when you leave you feel like family and I miss the people there more than I ever thought I would.

3. The experience! The experience of teaching yoga, the experience of relaxing and chatting with our amazing community, the experience of one of my sweet friends Bella coming, the experience of bonding with my boss, the experience of being present in this space, the experience of trying and liking new food, the experience of working from a different country, the experience of allowing myself to soak in and appreciate all that was in front of me and around me.

Some honorable mentions; the tasty food, the massage, and the stairs.

If you asked me a year ago about an experience like this I would have immediately said no or said it wasn't for me and thats what I did when my boss booked it but boy oh boy am I so thankful and appreciative that not only is this my job but that this is my life. That I was able to be present and experience this beautiful place with amazing people. It truly is all about mindset.

If you go into anything in life with a crappy attitude or a negative thought.. you know what you'll get?? A crappy negative experience! But if you go into any situation out of your comfort zone with a positive outlook and an open mind... I'm telling you... your life can change for the better. You can experience things in life you never thought you would and you'll be somewhere in life you never thought possible.

So on that note.. book the trip, say yes more, push yourself, smile more, and go into any and all situations life throws at you with a positive mindset.

Till next time my friends!

Go check them out and maybe come with us in April 2024
